Archery Triple Slam™
In Progress
High Mountain Archery™ founder Rob Gerstner is currently pursuing the Archery Triple Slam™, which is regarded as one of the most challenging quests in the realm of big game bow hunting. Created by Grand Slam Club Ovis, the Archery Triple Slam™ is part of a family of Slam quests followed by GSCO members and other hunting enthusiasts. To date, only three hunters have completed this Slam, which consists of harvesting 12 Ovis species (sheep-type species) and 12 Capra species (goat-type species), with the condition that 4 of the 12 Ovis species are those acknowledged by the North American Grand Slam of Sheep (Rocky Mountain Bighorn, Desert Bighorn, Stone, and Dall).
The Archery Triple Slam™ requires hunting in extreme places, not only in North America, but in multiple countries around the world. Rob explains, “My quest to fulfill this goal will take approximately 14 years, possibly longer if some hunts do not conclude with my target species being harvested. The main reason why I am focused on completing the Archery Triple Slam™ is my desire to face the almost overwhelming challenges presented by this goal, along with my insatiable desire to pursue what I am most passionate about: bow hunting high mountain, big game species all around the world!”
